In the race

I feel like I am always busy. If I'm not doing something for my family, or friends, then it's something for the business. I spend a lot of time doing busy work but I had to ask myself what am I really completing. You can do a lot of things but are your producing results? Are you taking action or are you just preparing to take action?

I am part of a mentoring group and we prepare a weekly schedule so we know what we have to do in regards to our business. Our coach holds us accountable for a certain amount of hours dedicated to our direct sales business. I looked at my schedule this week and I realized I don't have a lot of action items on the schedule. I'm scheduled for this training or that conference call but am I producing sales from these activities. Direct sales trainer,  Debrena Jackson Gandy calls it "IGA" Income Generating Activities. How many IGAs do I have on my schedule?

I spend a lot of time getting ready but I need to spend more time in ACTION. I had the privilege of seeing Alvin Day speak at a conference and he said, "Our business is like a race. You can imagine the announcer saying On Your Mark, Get Ready... but there is no GO! We stay stuck at Get Ready!" I am committing today to not just be busy but to take action.

I don't want to watch the race from the sidelines I want to WIN!
On Your Mark, Get Set, GO!

Direct Seller Motivation: People are talking

Direct Seller Motivation: People are talking: "I remember when I became a direct sales business owner and I launch my business, I was so excited. I shared with everyone what I was doing. ..."

People are talking

I remember when I became a direct sales business owner and I launch my business, I was so excited. I shared with everyone what I was doing. You could not be in my circle without me sharing a lotion or potion with you. I would wait for their reactions, they would say, "Oh this smells good!" I loved it.

As my business has grown and now that I'm home full time with my business it is interesting that the same people in my circle have changed their reactions. "Oh here Michelle comes with her lotions and potions!" "When are you going back to work?" "When are you going to get a real job?"

WOW!

People's reaction to how you are living your life may not always be positive. They might not understand why you are selling your cookware, jewelry, or makeup, when you have a Masters degree or a licence to practice law.
I believe that what's important is that your QUALITY of you life is better. The TIME FREEDOM that you now. And the EXCITEMENT of doing something that you enjoy. These are the biggest benefits you  have with direct sales business. You deserve a more abundant life and that is what direct sales can offer you. It is freedom from the RAT RACE. You can get to the finish line of the race and still have your sanity.

Let people talk. It's OK! It may be tough sometimes but you still need to press towards YOUR dreams. I remember a trainer telling me to stop listening to people who are not living the life you are trying to live. If they are broke, unhappy and miserable why should you take advice from them?
It's YOUR LIFE and YOU ONLY GET ONE. Make it the BEST!

The Very Best

The end of the month is the most challenging time for me. I always have a goal for sales and recruiting. As the end of the month nears, I start to panic. I start to listen to the little voices in my head that discourages me They tell me that my best is not enough. Don't bother you are not going to meet that goal. It's OK to give up.

I have to fight the doubt and fear. I have to reach for my very best. I can't give up. Have I done my very best, NO! Then it is not over.  I am working hard and people see that but sometimes I don't give myself enough credit. Sometimes you are your worst critic. I remember hearing a trainer say, "Look at your bank account and if you are unhappy with the balance then you need to pick up the phone."

There is only order forms and application in the way of me reaching my goal. It is just that simple and sometimes we need to KISS, keep it simple sister!
This last week of the month, I'm going to fight those voices in my head with positive affirmations. I'm going to fight those voices with vision of me achieving my goal.

I am going to do my very best!!
What about you?

Word is Bond

There was a time in life when a person's word was as good as their signature. When people were held accountable by what they committed to. Whether it is returning a phone call, following up on an appointment, or placing an order, if you said it you would do it.

I try to make a conscience effort to keep my word. I remember my teenage years where we had a saying "Word is bond", when you were committing to something. If a person told you that, you had their word that they were going to keep their promise or was telling you the truth.

In your direct sales business you have to strive to keep our word. You have to keep your word to your customers, your business partners, and to your sponsor or coach. If you are supposed to return a call or show up for a meeting on time, then you need to keep your word. People do business with people they like and respect. You can not afford NOT the keep your word.

I challenge you to make your "Word is Bond". When you implement this mantra in your business I believe you will see that people will begin to keep their word to you. Like attracts like. (that's my word)
