Changes

What changes are you willing to make in the New Year?

If you are looking for different results it may be time for a change.Change starts first with YOU, not your  customers, products, or the company. If you have not reached the goals you wanted in this year you need to look and see what areas YOU need to work on. When you point, one finger is directed at another, one is directed towards God and three are pointing back at YOU!

You can make a change, the new year is a great time to get started again. I want to grow my business and have more success in 2011. I'm not going to focus on others, I'm going to focus on what I can do to grow. I'm not going to wait for someone else. I'm not going to wait to see what the company is going to do ether. I'm started to make changes because it is MY BUSINESS.

It starts with ME and it starts with YOU.

NOW is a GREAT time to make a CHANGE!

Structure

STRUCTURE in your finances means you could be spontaneous. Spontaneity is based on Structure.

How STRUCTURED are you in your business? I had a customer call me because her order was delivered there was two items missing. It took me a few moments to put my hands on the order. I was so glad that I've been working on STRUCTURE in my office so I can find things.

I then had a party to do later that evening. I usually go over my items to make sure I have everything but this time since I had and event the day before I didn't check. I realized once I arrived that I did not have order forms? What am I going to do? I've been in direct sales long enough to know you've got to have order forms!!! I though to myself that I just have to tell the guests that I don't have my forms but I will write out the orders for them. I made a joke that I'm glad I work for myself so I can't fire myself when I make mistakes and everyone understood.  I didn't follow the STRUCTURE I had in place for my events. I gave myself more work and more worry by not making sure I had everything that I needed before I left home.

Are you missing out on sales because you don't have STRUCTURE in your business? Missing out on leads? I do the things I have to do now, so I can do the things I want to do later.

I visualize myself calling my husband to let him know we are going away for a spa weekend together. I've gotten a babysitter for the kids and we jump in the car when he gets home from work and we drive off to a romantic weekend. I can see my hair blowing in the warm breeze as we drive over the JFK bridge on our way upstate. I can smell the sweet warm air and feel the sun on my face.

I need to keep STRUCTURE now so I can bring my vision into reality.

Is there something spontaneous you'd like to do?

Open for Business

Now is the holiday season, when everyone has visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads, or are waiting for Reindeer and elves to arrive. You still are working your business. I am STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS. I am still meeting people and working on new customers for the New Year.

Many of us take time off for the holidays but, I believe that you can have time with your family and friends but you still can incorporate WORK into the fun. It is a great time to reconnect with friends who you have not spoken to in awhile. They want to catch up. People are all picking up the phones, instead of turning on the lap top and sending emails. Now is a great time to get on the phone catch up and share what you are doing.

Most people are in a better mood during the holidays. They are happy to take your call. This week I spoke to three old business partners. They all wanted to know how my new business was going. One went on my website and became a customer. One wants to do a party with me in the New Year. I am STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

You'll find you're running into more people in your travels s o make sure you are prepared. Make sure you have samples or cards or even products with you.

There is time for fun but make sure you have a balance of business.

Your Passion

The definition of PASSION:
Any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, as love
strong amorous feeling or desire; love; ardor.

Do you have a passion for your Business? I am passionate about what I do. I love my company that I've chosen to partner with and I love the products and how they make me and others feel. I love the women I am in business with. I love the growth and development that I see in their business and themselves. I LOVE my direct sales business!!!

Do you feel the same way?
When someone asks you about your business do you have to stop yourself from going OVER BOARD and talking non-stop? I have a business partner who I always tease her about her calls. She will call someone to book a party and goes on and on about the products. You  don't want to overwhelm the person you are speaking to. But, she is so passionate about her business it is hard for her to stop herself.

Do you wake up in the morning thinking of ideas for your business? Do you look forward to trainings and meetings?

When you love what you do, you can't help it! You are excited and you can't keep it to yourself.
I believe everyone likes falling and stay in love. Make sure you are still in love with your business. I believe it is hard to have success if you are not. Who would want to buy from you or join a business if you didn't care either one way or another.
When you are passionate you have a commitment and commitments stand the test of time. You don't give up, you don't walk away. You give your business the attention it needs.

I hope you have many years of passion and success in your direct sales business.

Cheerful Giver

Are you a sharing person? Are you someone who is offering a hand when someone is in need? In your business are you willing to give even though you are not guaranteed a sale from it? I was reminded this Sunday in church that I need to make sure I am a cheerful giver. If I share and support others, God will continue to bless me. A lot of times we look for that same person to give back to you but the blessing usually comes from a totally different source.

I'm was put to the test when a person who is in your inner circle didn't think of me when one of her friends was looking for a good skin care line. She never thought to say, "Michelle has products I think you should look at."  Should get upset? Should I stop myself from referring other people to good products & services? Nope!

I know that blessing are happening for me each and every day. Maybe I wasn't supposed to have that person as a customer or maybe the time wasn't right. Whatever the reason, I commit to having a giving spirit.

You have be your best promoter and supporter at times. You have to believe that you products are the best and you will get that customer or another customer in replace of the one you missed. I know I have something great to share with others.

Don't be worried. Your blessing is coming. Keep being a giver and keep up blessing others and you will be blessed.

Why ask Why?

It always amazes me that we are in the busiest time of the year for direct sales and we still have 0's on our genealogy. I started to ask myself tonight "why". Why wouldn't take advantage of all the holiday specials you have with your product line? Why wouldn't you share with someone else who is in need of a great product or service? Why wouldn't you buy from yourself before you go out to Macy's or Nordstrom? Why don't you see the great opportunity you are sitting on? Why do you have 0 sales this month in the mist of the holiday season?

The answer is... not for me to answer, it for that person to answer.
The answer is always up to the individual and I can't want something more than they want it. You can't change people so, change people. Stop asking Why and start asking Who else? and  Who's next?

You can't move forward if you keep on looking backwards. You have to look ahead and ask the new people for their "why"! Why are they looking for a new opportunity to earn additional income, or why are they looking for something else to do with their time, or why are they looking for something fun to do, or why are they looking to get out and meet new people?

Those are the "why" questions I should be asking.

Charlie Brown

I always enjoyed watching Charlie Brown cartoon specials. I liked  him but, I wondered why he had such a negative attitude for a little boy. He expected bad things to happen to him. He had this dark cloud around him always expecting the worst. Are you a Charlie Brown? Do you expect that you won't have any sales and no one will want your products? Do you say to yourself, "no one wants to do a party with me?" Are you expecting prospects not to show up at your opportunity events? Are you expecting disappointment?

I always wondered why Charlie Brown would let Lucy hold the football when he would say before hand that she  is going to pull the football away so he would fall.   Why do you speak negative and then are surprised when negative shows up? If you expect rejection then guess what, you'll find rejection.

What would happen if instead of him envying Snoopy, he started to think positive about himself. If you are a Charlie Brown, you are not attracting people to you and your business. You are need to first start to think and speak positive about yourself and your business. Next, you have to start to believe it!!
You've got a great product, a great business, and a great opportunity.

Charlie Brown, NO MORE negative, stinking thinking. Charlie Brown you have a lot to be thankful for and you need to start changing the way you think, TODAY!

Happy Thanksgiving Charlie Brown.

Victoria’s LaunchTip | Starting a Business and Growing your Company, Ladies Who Launch

Victoria’s LaunchTip | Starting a Business and Growing your Company, Ladies Who Launch

TO DO & Get It Done

Now that we are in the busiest time of the year for direct sellers you need to use your daily "TO-DO" list. It is so critical that you start and/or update your daily list. We have so many things going on personally and professionally that you don't want to miss out on any opportunities.

I recently was at a school event with my childrens' PTA and I asked several of the parents who I know do they have their Santa grab bag gift or teachers gift yet. I shared with them that I can help them with their gifts. I had a list of leads to follow up with. But, not writing it down at that moment was a mistake. That night when I got home I had to try to remember everyone who said yes there were interested in seeing my products.

Don't leave it up to the computer in your head. The best thing to do is write it on your list or put it in your IPhone, Blackberry or Android.

Once you have the tasks on your "TO-DO" list the goal is to now DO THEM! Check off each task completed. Reward yourself at the end of the week when you've completed at least 90% of your list. I say 90% because there will always be tasks that you need to carry over into the next week or two. Don't beat yourself up, celebrate all that you have done.

In business you've got to get it done so start now.
TO-DO or Not TO-DO, That is the question?

Leader's Vision

If you are a leader in your direct sales business then you need to have a vision for your business and  your team. Once you have sponsored someone in the business you are now a leader. You need to lead by example. You need to let your team know that you understand the struggles in this business but you are committed to the team.

When you set your weekly and monthly goals are you also keeping in mind your team goals? Are you sharing with the team what the company goals are? Do you have a vision for where your team is going?

"Without a vision the people will perish"

If you answered no to the above questions, then TODAY you can write down your vision and share it with your team. You need to speak it into existence. You need to claim it! You need to see the success in your team. You need to see that it's possible for your team to earn the trip incentive, to have them walking across the stage at convention. You have to visualize it first and then share your vision.

When you share the vision with the team you will be excited to see who from the team catches the vision. Who starts working towards the same goals with you. It starts with a snowball, rolling down a hill. Before you know it you've creative something bigger than you've imagined.

Get the ball rolling and start with your Leader's Vision.

Shooting or Shining Star

Are you a Shooting Star in your direct sales business? Glitz and Glam...Rocking to the top of the compensation plan. Are you doing things in your business that have never been done before?

Or are you a Shining Star. A shining star shines consistently works their business over the months and the years?  A shining star works to consistently hit her goals. She's not FLASHY but, produces! A shining light in all areas of her business.  No Glitz, no Glam, just solid consistent SHINE.

I remember my mom saying all that Glitters is not Gold. To me a Shooting Star zooms to the front but can she consistently produce?

You don't want to burn out, you just want to keep your SHINE.

Thanks to my business

We all have many reasons why we start our businesses. One of my reasons was I was looking for additional income to pay for my daughter's private school education. It was so important to have her in the formative years to be in a safe environment. A place where she can excel and be proud of who she is.

When I look at my daughter now I realize that the investment in her education was SO worth it!!! Thanks to my business. She has turned into an intelligent, beautiful, and personable young lady. Thanks to my business, it  has helped invest in my legacy, my daughter! Today she turns 12 years old and I am so happy that I'm getting a great return on my investment 100 fold.

No matter why you started your business, you need to take refection time to appreciate what your business has done for you, additional income, time freedom, treasured friends, confidence, or  a source for your creativity. Take time today to appreciate what your business has done.

Thanks to my business. Thanks to YOUR business.

Great Inspiration

I am inspired by so many things in life. I try to appreciate every lesson and every experience. I was so moved tonight watching BET's Black Girls Rock awards show. I was so INSPIRED!! My soon to be twelve year old daughter watched it with us and I pray she was inspired and saw how wonderful she can make her life.

We should get inspiration from all our experiences. We should dream bigger, in color and in 3D.When I was twelve we didn't have these shows to inspire us. We didn't see these beautiful black women on TV to tell me that I ROCKED!!

I started my direct  sales business to make changes in my financial life but it has impacted me in all aspects of my life. I realize that what I'm building now will change my daughters life. It will empower her to be different and to know that she can be her own CEO. She sees her mom dealing with customers, making booking calls, placing orders, and hosting parties. She sees me being a business woman and that it is possible for her not to just be an employee. I am inspired to help more Moms create this new vision in their daughters. Imagine if all our young women start to dream big, colorful, 3D dreams!!!

Thank you for the reminder BET that I ROCK and my daughter ROCKS too!!

You Asked For It

PUSH: Pray Until Something Happens, this is one of my favorite sayings. What happens after you PUSH? What happens when you get the answer you asked for or  an opportunity presents itself? Are you ready to act upon it?

A single mother who is out of work, needs to have a job with flexible hours, needs to make money right now, and you present her with your direct sales business. You explain you have a great sign up special this month, where she can get started right away with a minimal investment. She can make her investment and even more money with her first party, or order or auto ship within one month.
The SOMETHING HAPPEN is here! OPPORTUNITY IS KNOCKING! Now what?

You can see it for her but she has to have the belief in the product and herself. Your job is to lay it out as clear as possible to her and leave it on the table in front of her and she has to decide, Yes or No.

Opportunities are never missed, they are just passed on to someone else. There is someone else waiting to hear about this great offer. If she doesn't take it, believe me there is someone else. You have to believe that. You have to know that what you have to offer is best thing since sliced bread.

She asked for it and you've got the solution, now its up to her to act.

Some people spend a lifetime PUSH-ing but they don't realize they need to take action after the  SOMETHING HAPPENS.

A Cheerleader

In the 10th grade I decided to join the High School booster team. Being a booster was so natural to me. I am great at being the BIG voice for others. I love cheering others on.  I love to encourage. The interesting thing that I realize now, is that I did not want to be in front of the crowd like the cheerleaders. I believe that I was afraid to be out on the field. I was happy being in the stands and singing all the cheers! I really didn’t want to try to do a split.

When I started my own business, I learned that you do have to be a booster and encourage others but most of all you have to become a CHEERLEADER for yourself. You have to step in front of the crowd to get your business out there. You have to have the right steps, the right cheer, and the Big voice to work your business.

I'm now in front of the crowd. I'm not afraid of having eyes on me. I want people to hear and see me so they can know what I have to say and share with them. Even when the crowd is silent you have to keep up the cheers for yourself. You have to keep doing the steps that are going to get you to win the game.

Get you Pom-Poms out and start doing the steps!

Now I’m the cheering team, the starter for the team and the coach.

Recognition

When was the last time that you saw your name in lights? How did it feel? Was it like a big pat on the back or a warm embrace? I am someone who loves recognition. Just to say great job! We see all that you do and appreciate you! That is such a powerful thing.

You never know when one of your team member is doubting themselves or feeling down. We all have doubts.
When you acknowledge their hard work, congratulate them on sticking to their goals or just saying that you appreciate them, that is priceless.

I remember receiving my first congratulations card in the mail from my upline leader. She had picked such a lovely card and it was so touching. I kept it in my box of mementos from the business. It is so funny, that card was something simple but, it meant so much to me.

Send out a card and email to a few of your team members today.

Don't wait- Celebrate

Are You Contagious?

Contagious; "causing or likely to cause the same reaction or emotion in several people".
Does that describe you? Are you so excited about your business, about your product, that other people can't help but get excited with you? I want my passion about my business to be CONTAGIOUS. I want people to be so INFECTED with my belief about my product. Then they can't help but want to be a part of my business. I'm it will be CATCHING , that everyone I come in contact with becomes a business partner or customer.
Can you imagine if you cause an OUTBREAK! Everyone is talking about, everyone got to try it, can you just imagine?

You passion about what you do and your product should be the thing that you are sharing with everyone. Don't cover your mouth, let them CATCH IT! Don't keep it to yourself, SPREAD IT!

I want to be CONTAGIOUS!

Invest In You

Have you ever paid for a business coach? Have you ever invested in a training seminar or class that was not sponsored by your company? Do you seek out industry experts and listen to their training calls, attend their conferences?

How much would you invest in YOU for your own personal and sales development?

I remember that a group of us wanted to go to a seminar in Chicago. We lived in New York, and the seminar early bird price was about to end. I was waiting on the group to make a decision and book the flights. In the mist of trying to get a consensus  of what we were doing, I realized I had to invest in ME with or without the group. I went on the website and registered. I then I told my business partners I was registered and I was making my flight reservations that afternoon.

When I called the hotel for the conference rate they told me they were sold out. I thought "Oh no, I don't know anyone in Chicago, what am I going to do!"
After my initial panic I went on line and looked on one of the travel sites. I saw that if I booked the airfare with them they could get me into the same hotel where the conference was being held at a cheaper rate than the  conference rate. Once again I booked it.
I knew that I had to be at that training. I knew that there was something for me personally and professionally.
Sometimes you have to Invest In You!
Two of my business partners ended up going with me and we had a great time. The conference was worth every dollar I invested. It helped me bring on new team members by the end of that month.
I believe it was a powerful lesson for me to not to wait for others and to put myself and my business first. Invest In You! It will be worth it.

What's Your Theme Song?

What is Your Theme Song? What song to you hear that changes your mood
or motivates you? You can be in the middle of a challenging day and
when you hear it, your mood just shifts? To me music helps me get
motivated. I've been having a few bumps in the road in my business but
this morning it the sun was shining and it was unseasonably warm, I
put on my ipod and then I heard my theme song for the day!

"Miss Independent" by Ne-Yo. The words hit me like a brick... "Cause
she walks like a boss, talks like a boss, Manicured nails to set the
pedicure off, She's fly effortlessly...She's got her own thing, that's
why I love her Miss Independent, Ohh The Way we shine, Miss
Independent"

He was talking about me LOL
It reminded me that I started my business to have my own money to be
independent and to be my own boss.

I was so pumped up, I played it all day. My new Miss Independent
attitude helped me stay focused today. I had a 1 on 1 spa appointment
with a prospect and she signed up, so I helped someone else become
Miss Independent too!

If you don't have a theme song find one today or you can share mine!

Spending Time

Are you SPENDING your time with your future in mind? Are you staying focused on growing your business? Do you SPEND time on coaching and personal  and business development?
Or are you SPENDING you time watching what happened on Atlanta's Housewives, or Dancing with the Stars?

When you SPEND on something you want to make sure it has value. No one spends their time or talents and even money on something that they can't see the value in.
Sometimes it's OK to SPEND on something frivolous sometimes. We all do that! So if you SPEND your time on an hour TV show make sure that's it! Everyone indulges once in awhile.

SPEND time on things that you will get a return on, your faith, your family, your friends and your business!
Priceless!

I am Sold Out

You must have faith in what you do, the company you have invested in, and most importantly in YOURSELF. I am SOLD OUT, my mind is MADE UP. I believe in my ability to gain wealth with the help of my direct sales business. I believe in the products I help promote and the company that I have partnered with.
This is a great industry, but you have to have rock solid belief.

You will come into contact with many people who could not do what we do. They can not take the NO or Not Now. They take it too personal. So many people wonder how do we do it. They would like the extra money but they don't want to work for the extra money. You have to know, that you know, that this is the best industry and the best opportunity for YOU.

I am SOLD OUT and I love being in direct sales!!!

1 more day

Your order helped me, just one more day.
You didn’t know that your business helped me stay in business for just one more day. Your excitement about my product reminded me what I have to offer. Your trust in me made my day. It helped remind me why I birthed this business. When you called me I was so grateful. When I saw that order in my computer system I was blessed. When you emailed me to confirm your order I was inspired. I know you will be happy with your order, with my service, with my product. I know that referring me to someone you can stand by your recommendation and your decision. Because of you, I was motivated and it helped me to continue on this journey, just one more day.
Thank you, I was so happy to hear from you. You made my day!

New Born Baby

When you said yes to starting your own business you gave BIRTH to something new. A new thing in your life. Your business is your new born baby. You take this baby home and you don't know what to do. You are excited, you think about the future and all the possibilities. You wonder how it will grow. You are praying for a healthy baby and now you need to do the work to help your baby grow.

Are you feeding your baby?
To grow you must feed it. You feed it with new customers, new spa parties, and orders. Committing to the time to hold your spa parties will grow your business. The more people who learn about from you will result in more customers and recruits.
When was is the last spa party you had? Is your BABY HUNGRY?

Are you nurturing your baby?
You must nurture your baby. Nurturing is spending time with your baby. How many minutes, hours are you spending on your business? Do you only look at your SPA back office only when you get an email from the home office or your up line? Do you spend any time learning and listening to trainings? Have you been on any live training calls?
Is your BABY GETTING YOUR ATTENTION?

Are you showing off your baby? Your baby needs to interact with people. Are you telling everyone about your business? Do you show off the great products that you have? Are you proud of this beautiful baby and can't wait for everyone to know about it?
How many people know about your baby? Are YOU a PROUD MOM?

There is good news even if you realize that you need to take better care of your baby. Starting today you can commit to taking better care of your Business/Baby. I'm here as a Mom to help you. We go to Dr Spock for advice but you have me to help you through this new Born stage.

I'm asking you to take 4 steps:
  1. Commit to FEED your business- I will work with you to get your calendar filled with bookings.
  2. Commit to NURTURE your business- Listen to at least 1 training from the SPA each week.
  3. Commit to SHOWING OFF your business- Be prepared with samples, catalogs, hostess packets and business info kits. Everywhere you go make a connection and share your business card and sample with someone. Remember to get their info to follow up with them.
  4. Take action Today
